UGDSB to celebrate the graduating class of 2020 through school videos

May 22, 2020

GUELPH, Ontario – The Upper Grand District School Board has teamed up with Guelph’s Ward 1 Studios to create congratulatory videos for the graduating class of 2020.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, all high school graduations in the UGDSB have been postponed, and as such, the graduating class of 2020 will not end their high school career with the usual celebrations.

As one way of celebrating the graduating students and their hard work, dedication and resilience, each secondary school will receive a personalized video featuring messages from the school principal and an introduction by UGDSB’s Director of Education, Martha Rogers.

“We know that this has been a disappointing time for our graduating students who have missed out on celebrations and other important events at the end of their time in high school,” said Rogers.

“It is our hope that this video will be one small way that we can show our appreciation for our students’ sacrifices – staying home so that we all stay safe – and we look forward to celebrating in person when it is safe to do so.”

The videos will be produced by Ward 1 Studios.
