United Way returns for its 2023 ‘Better Is Possible’ campaign

November 20, 2023

Guelph, ON – The United Way has always believed that ‘Better is Possible.’ They believe that every person in every community deserves the opportunities, access, and connections they need to build a good life – regardless of their income, the neighbourhood they live in, or their social identity.

To achieve that this year, the United Way – in collaboration with the Upper Grand District School Board – returns for its 2023 ‘Better Is Possible’ Campaign. There are many shared values between UGDSB and The United Way. From championing health and well-being, and creating equitable access to resources, to ensuring children have the support they need to thrive.

United Way Guelph-Wellington-Dufferin is working to make better possible by focusing on addressing the root causes of poverty and shifting their solutions to create systemic change, and ensure families and individuals have the financial, social, and personal assets they need to improve their quality of life.

This year we’re seeking to achieve much more than what we accomplished last year. Last year the Upper Grand DSB raised more than $14,000. This year we aim to raise at least 10% more than last year.

The campaign runs through the most generous time of the year; and year after year we see UG schools giving back, spreading kindness and uplifting their communities. We encourage our staff and students to tag us on Instagram (@uppergrand) and Twitter (@ugdsb) with #BetterIsPossible in any of their upcoming kindness initiatives.

If a UG educator wants to get more involved in the United Way ‘Better Is Possible’ Campaign they can speak to Holly Freeman at [email protected] about becoming a United Way Liaison for their school.
