GUELPH, Ontario — The Upper Grand District School Board is proud to announce the winners of its Everyday Heroes Awards program for the 2008-09 school year.
Twelve groups, representing 14 individuals, selected from 21 nominees, will receive special recognition and thanks at an awards ceremony on Wednesday May 27 at 7:00 p.m. at the E.L. Fox Auditorium, John F. Ross C.V.I., Guelph.
“We had difficulty choosing this year’s recipients,” said Bob Borden, Chair of the board. “While we could not select everyone who was nominated, we do consider every nominee an Everyday Hero.”
All nominees will be introduced at the awards ceremony. The 12 winners will be formally honoured for making Upper Grand schools positive learning and working environments for students and staff. Entertainment will be provided by L’école John McCrae School primary and junior skipping teams.
Following the ceremony, there will be a reception for the winners, nominees and their guests in the cafeteria at John F Ross CVI.
A list of the winners and nominees is attached.
