February 10, 2017

GUELPH, Ontario – Staff and students at Victory Public School didn’t let the frosty temperatures put the chill on a day of fun outdoors.

On Friday, the school held its annual Winter Carnaval, celebrating Canadian history and French-Canadian culture.

Students took part in a variety of activities including curling, a log relay, ice sculpture building, zip lining, Voyageur trekking in snowshoes, sled races, log rolling and schlockey.

Victory teacher Pierre Elrick built the luges for the zip line and the schlockey boards.

On Wednesday night, Victory PS hosted a soirée where families came to the school with lanterns lighting their way and participated in winter activities with their kids.

Thursday was the Kindie Carnaval and on Friday the rest of the school took part in the fun winter activities.
