Policy 419 Teacher Hiring Practices

Policy Statement

It is the policy of the Upper Grand District School Board to ensure a fair, equitable and transparent process for teacher hiring and/or promotion. Recruitment, hiring, employment and promotion practices shall be consistent, equitable, free from discrimination and based on qualifications, merit, professional ability, lived experience and work experience. The board is committed to having a qualified and diverse teacher workforce within a workplace environment that is safe, inclusive and equitable to all.
