3 Guelph schools join forces for fundraising concert event

For Immediate Release
April 5, 2017

GUELPH, Ontario – Bands from John F. Ross CVI, Guelph CVI, Centennial CVI and the Guelph Jazz Ensemble are joining forces on April 21 for a fundraiser concert.

Each group is raising money to attend the MusicFest Canada Nationals, held this year in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

The groups decided to work together for this fundraiser as this is the first time all three schools have been invited to the Nationals. These groups belong to the same communities and are routing for each other to succeed.

The MusicFest Nationals serve as an exciting opportunity for students to learn and see what is happening in the rest of the country. Many of the students participating in the concert are pursuing post-secondary education in the field of music and MusicFest is a valuable experience for students.

In preparation for the concert, students are hard at work practicing their pieces. Each group will play three or four pieces, including the ones they have prepared for the MusicFest Nationals.

EVENT DETAILS:

Tickets for the event are $20 per ticket or $10 for students. Tickets will be available at the door prior to the concert. All proceeds of the Harmony concert event will go toward sending these groups to MusicFest Canada.
