CWDHS Indigenous Club collecting donations for First Nations, Inuit communities

GUELPH, Ontario – A group of students and staff at Centre Wellington District High School in Fergus is collecting donations to ship to a number of Northern communities.

The CW Indigenous Club is looking for donations of clothing and non-perishable items. Items in need include new baby and children clothing, baby blankets and quilts, diapers, baby toiletries, linens, blankets, sewing machines, personal hygiene products, boots and shoes.

The items will be shipped to a number of communities in Northern Ontario, Northern Quebec and Nunavut.

The club collects items year round and works in partnership with the Elora Central Pentecostal Church and the Inuit Outreach Program.

In order to make the first shipment deadline, members of the community are asked to get donations to the club by November 20, 2016. Additional shipments will take place in February and May.
