Erin DHS, OPP to host student vs police charity hockey game

ERIN, Ontario – Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with the students at Erin District High School would like to invite the media to attend at charity hockey game at the Erin Community Centre.

Background

Once again the Erin District High School Senior boys have challenged the Wellington County OPP to a charity hockey game. This year’s game is in support of four- year-old Damien who is battling leukemia. Damien was diagnosed in November 2016. His mother, Jo-Anne, is a graduate of Erin District High School.

Donations will be made in Damien’s name to the Ronald McDonald House Charity (RMHC). In addition to cash donations, RMHC also looking for non-perishable food items, kitchen supplies such as Ziploc bags, foil, saran wrap, and toiletries. Gift cards are also appreciated by the organization to help families during a difficult time.

Inspector Scott Lawson of the Wellington County OPP will be on hand for the ceremonial puck drop with Damien. This again promises to be a fun event and a chance for everyone to participate and contribute to a worthwhile cause.
