For Immediate Release
October 12, 2016

GUELPH, Ontario – More than 1,300 grade 8 students from Upper Grand District School Board and Wellington Catholic District School Board schools in Guelph and Wellington are coming to Career Pathways Guelph to learn about a broad range of local and area education, training and career opportunities.

Students come for a half day, hear motivational speaker Sunjay Nath and rotate through a traditional career exhibit room, as well as a new room featuring interactive exhibits.

Students will also meet employers and other representatives at over 25 displays that will feature construction, manufacturing, business services, social services, insurance, finance, entrepreneurship, government and many more.

Why this is important? Grade 8 students will soon be starting high school where they are required to make course selections that influence their future opportunities and career paths. Meeting employers from a broad range of careers now can help students make informed career choices that will lead to meaningful, successful careers.
