Rickson Ridge PS to host 2nd annual Cuddle Up and Read literacy event

GUELPH, Ontario – Members of the Rickson Ridge PS school community are invited to the second annual Cuddle Up and Read event.

Rickson families are invited to attend this free event celebrating literacy. The event is presented by the Rickson Ridge School Council and will feature interactive storytelling with Rickson teachers and special guest author Jorey Tessier.

Doors will open at 5:45 p.m. for pre-event crafts, a toddler play area and used book sale. The reading event runs from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The literacy event is geared toward students in Kindergarten to Grade 6. Students are encouraged to wear their jammies and enjoy an evening of interactive storytelling. Students in grades 6 to 8 will also participate in the event by volunteering, hosting and participating in a Zumba break with attendees.

Also at the event, the school will announce the winners of Rickson’s literary contest. All students were encouraged to participate in the writing contest.
