GUELPH, Ontario – Members of the community are invited to a summer gathering celebrating youth and indigenous cultures and traditions.

Biindigen! Youth Celebrate Stories is an event for all ages, family and friends. It will be held at The Bookshelf in Guelph on August 21.

The gathering will feature an exhibit tour of Zoongeheshkwaad, a student art exhibit by elementary and secondary students in the Upper Grand and Wellington Catholic District School Boards. The exhibit features more than 100 pieces of student art inspired by First Nations, Métis, and Inuit culture from 30 participating schools.

Previously on display at the Wellington County Museum and Archives, the exhibit moved to The Bookshelf in July and will be on display until the end of August.

The summer gathering will also feature a ceremonial welcome, medicine wheel storytelling, traditional foods and ceremonies, community drumming and more.
