Success for Upper Grand students at international business competition in Nashville

GUELPH, Ontario – Upper Grand students had a successful showing at the DECA International competition held in Nashville this week.

Three students from Centennial CVI competed in the final round, and two of those students brought home trophies. Wendy won first place in the Food Marketing Series and Tory placed second in the Professional Selling event. Trevor competed in the final round featuring the top 20.

Students Catherin and Raymond from Guelph CVI competed in the final round in the Public Relations event.

Four students from Centre Wellington DHS also competed in Nashville, after beating out the competition at the provincial DECA competition in February. Morgan, Kayla and Adia finished in the top 20 in the Community Service Project category and Sydney competed individually in the Quick Serve Restaurant Marketing oral case study competition.

CWDHS students compete at DECA internationals

Competitions were held during the DECA International Career Development Conference (ICDC) held in Nashville, Tennessee, from April 23 to 26.

The ICDC brings together more than 18,000 high school students, teachers, and business professionals. DECA members participate in competitive events to showcase their college and career-ready knowledge and skills.
