University Information Program coming to Upper Grand students

For Immediate Release
October 7, 2016

GUELPH, Ontario – Representatives from the province’s 21 universities will be visiting Upper Grand District School Board schools as part of the University Information Program (UIP).

The UIP will be making stops this fall in Orangeville, Palmerston and Guelph. These free events are open to all students and families in the surrounding areas – students from any high school in the area are welcome to attend.

On Oct. 18 from 1-2:30 p.m., the UIP will be at Westside Secondary School in Orangeville. On Nov. 8 from 12:30-2:30 p.m. it will stop at Norwell District Secondary School in Palmerston. The Guelph stop will take place on Nov. 10 from 9:30-12 p.m. at Bishop Macdonell CHS, but the event is open to students in the Upper Grand DSB.

UIP events allow secondary students and their parents/guardians the chance to speak in-person with representatives from multiple Ontario universities.

Students considering university as a pathway for them following graduation can learn more about admission requirements, the application process, campus life, scholarships, and more.

While the event aims to assist graduating students in making an informed decision before applying to university, it is also open to younger students looking for guidance with course selection.

Students who are interested in attending an event near them are urged to confirm the UIP schedule with their school’s guidance office.
