Author David Alexander Robertson to visit The Bookshelf for UGDSB event

GUELPH, Ontario – Indigenous author David Alexander Robertson is coming to the Upper Grand District School Board as the keynote presenter to elementary educators and teacher librarians at professional development events on May 14 and 15.

Robertson will be visiting the Upper Grand DSB to help enhance social studies and history curriculum with regard to Indigenous content.                                                      

Robertson is the winner of many awards including the Governor General’s Literary Award for his book When We Were Alone. He is a member of Norway House Cree Nation and resides in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

During his time with the Upper Grand DSB, Robertson will be visiting Fergus and Orangeville to speak about teaching Indigenous history, culture, and contemporary issues through literature at two professional development events for teachers.

To help reach a wider audience outside of the PD events, the UGDSB partnered with The Bookshelf in Guelph for an evening presentation on May 14 at 6:30 p.m. This event is open to any UGDSB staff members.
