CCVI hosts annual Science Olympics

GUELPH, ON – On April 5, 2024, Centennial Collegiate Vocational Institute hosted their annual Centennial Science Olympics for the 11th time in the past 15 years.

This year, teams from six Guelph secondary schools (both UG and Wellington Catholic), arrived at the school ready to compete. Teams were made up of students from Centennial CVI, Guelph Collegiate Vocational Institute, John F. Ross Collegiate Vocational Institute, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic High School, Bishop MacDonnell Catholic High School and St. James Catholic High School.

During the day, students attempted to build complex levers and pulleys, make chemicals, pipet and show off their lab skills. Students also participated in science trivia, coding some programs and some math challenges.

Participating students enjoyed the day. CCVI would like to thank all staff who helped run the events at the school.
