CCVI students learn about the National Microbiology Laboratory

GUELPH, ON – On December 1, 2023, Janet Lin, a researcher from the National Microbiology Laboratory visited students at Centennial Collegiate Vocational Institute.
Canada’s National Microbiology Laboratory is known for its scientific excellence. While at CCVI, Lin discussed career pathways in Microbiology and what kinds of work can be done in biology research.
The discussion focused on detecting COVID in wastewater and how Canada is on the cutting edge of vaccine development for diseases like Ebola. Students from health science, biotechnology, and biology classes were in attendance.
