Drayton Heights PS students form Wild Girlz art club

March 19, 2024

DRAYTON, ON – Earlier this year, a group of junior girls from Drayton Heights Public School, formed an Art club at the school which they named Wild Girlz.

This group met almost daily for the first few weeks after its formation to create art in the school library with teacher Noella Reynolds, who happens to be an artist herself. These students were so committed to the artworks they were creating, they opted to gather as a club instead of going outside for recess.

Throughout the process, students learned from Reynolds about art techniques and even how to price their art for showing.

Reynolds framed the final art pieces and submitted them to an art show, which debuted on March 8, 2024. The event was in celebration of International Women’s Day at Silence Guelph. This show is running from March 8, 2024, to May 3, 2024, at 46 Essex St. in Guelph.

Reynolds also has art at the show, however, please note that Reynolds goes by Noella Upitis in the Art community.

Congratulations to all students and staff involved in this art show!
