French Immersion random selection process results for 2018-19 school year

GUELPH, Ontario – The results of the French Immersion (FI) random selection process for the 2018-19 school year are now available online.
The on-time Junior Kindergarten FI registration window was open from January 9 to January 19, 2018. There are 16 elementary schools in the Upper Grand District School Board that offer JK FI. Each school that offers JK FI has a school-level cap in place for entry into the program. Across those 16 schools, there were a total of 639 JK FI spaces available for the 2018-19 school year, an increase from 603 available spaces in 2017-18.
During the on-time registration window, 640 applications were received. Eight schools exceeded their school-level cap and the random selection process was held on January 29. Parents/guardians were informed of their registration status prior to February 28.
