GCVI students exhibit their art at local community centre

June 9, 2023

Guelph, ON — Students from Guelph Collegiate Vocational Institute (GCVI) got to experience what it’s like to live the life of an artist when local community centre, 10C invited them to hang their work in their Community Open House art exhibit.

The work displayed at the exhibit was a culmination of the students’ hard work and development over the last two years in the IB Visual Arts program.

“Throughout their time in the program, they have studied various artists whose work spans several cultural and global influences. Each student then investigated a personal theme and created several pieces that explored their artistic process,” said their instructor, Barbara Muscat.

Muscat said that the experience was an opportunity for students to take pride and validation in the process of sharing their work with others in their community. “We are so thankful for each of them to have the chance to display their work and share in an important collective experience.”
