John F. Ross CVI explores food sustainability for World Food Day

October 14, 2021

GUELPH, Ontario — Students at John F. Ross Collegiate Vocational Institute “grew” their understanding of food sustainability for World Food Day.

Downey’s Apple Farm in Breslau donated a thousand of their own locally grown apples to the students and staff of John F. Ross CVI with messages promoting the link sustainable food production has with personal nutrition and creating healthier environments.

Students in John F. Ross CVI’s classes have been exploring topics related to World Food Day, such as cooking with locally-sourced food.

World Food Day is an international day celebrated every year to commemorate the date of the founding of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization.
