John F. Ross CVI students earn skid steer certification

GUELPH, ON – Students from John F. Ross Collegiate Vocational Institute recently achieved their skid steer certification through a recent Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) event hosted by Lawlor Safety. This event aimed to equip students with vital construction industry skills, particularly in operating heavy machinery.
At Lawlor Safety, the students first received classroom instruction on safety protocols, equipment maintenance, and operational techniques. They then moved to practical training, where they learned to maneuver skid steers under expert supervision.
