King George families explore robotics, virtual reality at hands-on science event

October 27, 2017

GUELPH, Ontario – Everything from robotics to music composition was on display at École King George Public School on Thursday, as parents and their children explored the world of STEM education.

On Oct. 26, the school held a “Hands-On Science Night” for all families.

The free event was the school’s 5th annual PRO Grant Event, a night organized by parents/guardians and funded by the Ministry of Education.

Dozens of volunteers helped make the night possible, including members of the community, parents/guardians and school staff. They ran workshops, activities and displays.

Families got a hands-on experience with things like Lego robotics, Ozobots, drones, virtual reality, music composition, Cubetto and more. Student work was on display throughout the school.

Congratulations to the King George PS school community for a fantastic night of learning.
