June 16, 2021

PALMERSTON, Ontario – A student at Norwell District Secondary School was recently announced as one of the winners of the prestigious Schulich Leader Scholarship.

The Schulich Leader Scholarship is awarded to 100 students across Canada each year by partner universities. Each student is awarded funds to pursue an undergraduate degree in the field of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).

This scholarship gives Canadian students $80,000-$100,000 to use toward their post-secondary studies.

Graduating student Daniel plans to use his scholarship at Western University as he is set to enter the Engineering program.

According to one of Daniel’s teachers, Marla Spencer, “Dan is an exceptional young man.  He is generous and kind to everyone, and approaches life with curiosity, determination and grace.  His keen wit and ‘joie de vivre’ attract positivity and create excellence.”

While thinking about this scholarship, Daniel said, “Receiving the Schulich Leader Scholarship has presented me with a great opportunity regarding my post-secondary studies. Schulich Leaders is a network of like-minded STEM-oriented people, and I am honoured to be a part of this scholarship. Furthermore, I am thankful for the teachers and staff who [have] supported me and helped me work to my fullest potential as both a student and a leader.”

Congratulations Daniel on receiving this great honour.
