Trustee Ralf Mesenbrink acclaimed as Chair of the Upper Grand District School Board

Ralf Mesenbrink WebsiteGUELPH, Ontario – Trustee Ralf Mesenbrink, school board trustee for Wards 2, 3 and 4 in the City of Guelph, was acclaimed Chair of the Upper Grand District School Board at the Board Meeting on November 28, 2023.

This is Trustee Mesenbrink’s second time serving as Chair. The position is for a one-year term.

In his address to the Board, Mesenbrink thanked his trustee colleagues “for their support and confidence in both me and our ability bring our voices together and make the best decisions for the system.”

Trustee Mesenbrink highlighted work that continues to be priorities for the Board, including addressing learning gaps and continuing the system’s work toward the Equity Pillar of the Multi Year Plan.

“I think I speak for all my colleagues when I say that we are looking forward to continuing to work with and support every staff member in this organization to the benefit of all our learners,” said Mesenbrink.

Katherine Hauser WebsiteAlso at the November 28 meeting, Trustee Katherine Hauser was acclaimed as Vice Chair. This is Trustee Hauser’s second time serving as Vice Chair.

“I look forward to continuing to work with Chair Mesenbrink and Vice-Chair Hauser, and the entire Board of Trustees, as we take action to realize Vision 2026,” said UGDSB Director of Education Peter Sovran. “With the Board’s support we will continue to put students at the centre of everything we do, and move forward as a system to improve the achievement and outcomes of Upper Grand students.”
