Guelph, ON – The 12th annual Trees for Tots program run by the Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington was a huge success.

This year over 70 trucks took to the streets of Guelph to collect over 3,600 trees and over $93,000.  Trees for Tots raises funds for the Children’s Foundation to enhance the well-being of children and youth by connecting them to experiences and supports that contribute to their sense of belonging and helping them to reach their full potential.

Over the last several years, the UGDSB has provided Trees For Tots use of parking lot space at Centennial CVI for their chipping station, as well as in the cafeteria for their morning meet-ups.

“UGDSB has been good to us by supporting our permit requests, and even ensuring the lots have been cleared and ready for us in the event of a snowstorm,” said Amanda Kavchak the Director of Marketing & Community Engagement at the Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington.

The initiative does so much to give back to the community, contributing to things like:

The Trees for Tots program also provides ways to positively impact our local environment – they’ve donated over 550 tons of mulch and over 1,250 whole trees to Guelph and Wellington.
