UGDSB includes all awesome humans – Celebrating Pride this June

June 1, 2020

GUELPH, Ontario – This June, the Upper Grand District School Board will be celebrating all things Pride.

This year, we have experienced many changes as we have moved to distance learning, which means how we celebrate Pride month has changed as well.

The UGDSB will be celebrating the LGBTQ+ community throughout the month of June with several virtual events.

To kick-off Pride month, many UGDSB sites will be flying the Pride flag during the month of June. Flags will be risen at each site at 11:00 a.m. on June 1. For more information about why we fly the Pride flag, visit the board website.

Virtual events this month will include an art exhibit that showcases student work and several special guest spotlights. Guest spotlights will include authors and advocates who support the LGBTQ+ community.

Even though many things have changed this year, our commitment to including all awesome humans has remained the same.

Information about our virtual events will be shared on social media and the 2020 UGDSB Pride month website.

Don’t forget that now is a great time to reflect on the wonderful memories we have created over the past few years during the Rainbow Leadership Summit and through our school GSA groups.

Let us know what amazing things you will be doing this month to celebrate Pride by using #UGIncludesPride.
