UGDSB prepares for UG CAN Unite

April 10, 2017

GUELPH, Ontario – Upper Grand District School Board schools and offices are participating in a board-wide building event to support local food banks.

Two students from Kortright Hills Public School started this exciting project. Their goal was to bring schools and offices together for a massive food drive. Staff and students will be building structures that represent their school or office out of the collected cans and non-perishable items.

Food collections have begun, planning is underway, and momentum is building in Upper Grand as students and staff prepare to build their structures.

The builds will be taking place at schools and offices during Education Week starting May 1.

We are very excited to be participating in this exciting event and we look forward to working together to help stock the shelves of our local food banks.

Schools and offices are encouraged to tweet @ugdsb using the hashtag #UpperGrandCAN while they collect and build their can structures.
