Beyond Borders returns to ‘Inspire’ community

January 12, 2023

Guelph, ON – Students enrolled in the Upper Grand District School Board’s Beyond Borders experiential learning program are hoping to inspire a better future for our local and global communities, through a series of local charity and community events.

Like every year, the class of twelfth graders put together different community-minded projects – like a charity car wash and hosting a grade-8 night – before leading up to their formal grand charity event.

This year’s theme is called ‘Inspire’ and the formal event will be held at Guelph’s River Run Centre on January 20 at 6 pm. The event will be open to the public and tickets can be bought here

“Our goal is to raise $150,000 for The Foundation of Guelph General Hospital and Doctors Without Borders, as well as 40% of donations going back into the Beyond Borders program to help minimize future student costs,” said Beyond Border student Adrina D.

The Beyond Borders program is built around leadership development. The students in the program separate themselves into different departments to take on the various tasks of planning this fundraiser over a six-week period.
