First Nation artist Michael Cywink at Ottawa Crescent PS

Last week (Sept. 29-Oct. 3) Ottawa Crescent PS welcomed artist Michael Cywink for a week-long mural creation project involving the entire school. Kudos to teacher Michelle Hornett for orchestrating this opportunity through the Aboriginal Artists in Schools program. Look for the gorgeous murals to be hung in the library.

Minto-Clifford students to get temporary walkway

Upper Grand District School Board representatives, the Town of Minto and the developer of the former Harriston Senior Public School property have agreed to a temporary walkway for students to access Minto-Clifford Central Public School. The temporary walkway will be available once the George Street reconstruction is completed. This is estimated to be by the end of October.

OSSLT and Grade 9 Math EQAO results released

Secondary students in Upper Grand high schools who were eligible to write the EQAO Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) this year have achieved an 82% success rate, while Grade 9 math students continued to outperform many of their peers across the province.
