Compass Community Services adds LGBTQ+ support telephone line

GUELPH, Ontario — LGBTQ+ youth of Guelph and Wellington County will soon be able to receive telephone service for their mental health. 

Compass Community Services — an organization that provides responsive and professional resources that foster well-being into their communities — has expanded their telephone support services to Guelph and Wellington county with the new addition of a LGBTQ+ support line.

Many LGBTQ+  youth experience homophobia, transphobia, or bullying due to their sexual orientation or gender identity/expression. For those lacking support around coming out, questioning their sexual orientation or gender identity; or for those who may be experiencing depression, anxiety, or self-harm they may call or text the LGBTQ+ support line at (226) 669-3760.

This service will be launching October 4 at 9 a.m. It will operate seven days a week, including holidays, from 8 a.m to 10 p.m.
