Survey for parents/caregivers on student mental health resources

May 28, 2024

In partnership with the Ontario Coalition for Children and Youth Mental Health, we are providing information about the opportunity for you to participate in a survey that will inform the development of student mental health resources next year.

We recognize that parents/caregivers want the best for their children when it comes to their mental health and well-being and that it is not always easy to know where to find appropriate information or resources to address your concerns and questions.

A new survey, distributed by the Ontario Coalition for Children and Youth Mental Health will gather information about what parents need and want when it comes to resources to help them improve their awareness and support of mental health and well-being in children and youth. The results of this survey will be used to develop new resources, designed to meet their needs, both in terms of the information or topics covered to the format they will be delivered in, such as videos, presentations, or online learning resources.

By completing the survey, parents/caregivers can help the Coalition to develop accessible resources tailored to their needs and make supporting children and youth mental health easier.

From May 27 to June 17, the Coalition is seeking input from parents/caregivers of school aged children and young people, from junior kindergarten to grade 12, on what additional resources they would like to have. Your participation in this survey will help the Coalition to understand and develop resources to improve mental health supports for parents/caregivers to access to help the kids they love; to help shape a better future for young people in Ontario. Click on the survey link below to participate today! (Note:  survey link offers 16 different languages for completion of the survey).

Ontario Parent/Caregiver Survey

In addition to the survey, there is also the opportunity for some parents/caregivers and students to participate in a focus group intended to explore this topic in greater detail. It is planned to host up to 6 focus groups- 4 for parents/caregivers and 2 for students. Focus groups will be held virtually, in late June. Participants will receive a gift card for their time.

Anyone who might be interested to know more or want to confirm their participation, can connect with the Coalition at [email protected]
