Sustainability: Upper Grand celebrates National Sweater Day

February 1, 2024

Turn down the thermostat, and put on a sweater! This year 52 Upper Grand schools are participating in National Sweater Day.

Since 2010, over a million Canadians have participated in National Sweater Day at their schools, workplaces and homes. It is a day to help raise awareness about climate change and modify behaviours around energy consumption.

These schools will be turning down their thermostat by 2 degrees celsius and spreading awareness about the importance of energy conservation.

Schools who participate in National Sweater Day can also earn EcoSchool Stewardship points for participating. If your school is interested in learning more about and participating in National Sweater Day, you can check out their website here, and if you can learn more about UG EcoSchools here.
