UGDSB student places 2nd at National Skills competition

QUEBEC CITY, QC – Between May 29, 2024, to June 1, 2024, hundreds of students from across the country gathered in Quebec City, Quebec for the annual National Skills Canada competition.

After qualifying earlier in May, the Upper Grand District School Board was pleased to be sending two students to compete at the national level.

Both students competing in this competition are from John F. Ross Collegiate Vocational Institute. Wil A (coach Gary Bauman) competed in Automotive Service Technology and Colby L (coach Paul Lydan) competed in the Job Interview category.

After a busy competition period, Colby L placed 5thin his category. Wil A placed 2nd in his category, taking home the silver medal for team Ontario.

Congratulations to all students who competed in the National Skills competition and to their coaches for helping guide them through this process.
