It is Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week – Here’s how you can educate yourself and your child/ren
November 19 to 25, 2023 is Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week. Each year, Ontario designates the week beginning on the third Sunday of November as Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week (BAPW) to help promote safe schools and a positive learning environment.
The Upper Grand District School Board (UGDSB) is accepting applications to fill the vacant trustee position representing the Town of Orangeville. This position is for the term of December 2023 to November 2026.
All parents/guardians in the Upper Grand District School Board are invited to complete the 2023 WHY Survey, in partnership with Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health.

Treaties Recognition Week is November 5-11, 2023. This year the Upper Grand District School Board is encouraging educators, parents, guardians and students to learn about their local treaty partner, what it means to be a good treaty person and to deepen their learning by considering how they might commit to everyday actions that fulfill their roles and responsibilities as a treaty person throughout their lives.
Strengths to Grow is a University of Guelph research project that provides an opportunity for parents/guardians to get a series of online modules for strengths-based parenting.
At the October 24, 2023, Board Meeting one updated policy was approved and four more were released for public consultation. Members of the public and school communities can provide their input into the draft policies online.
In light of the ongoing and developing situation in the Middle East including potential global demonstrations tomorrow, we would like to remind all UGDSB staff, students and families of the supports we have in place that they may access.
