EQAO results released for Grade 9 Math
GUELPH, Ontario (September 25, 2013) — Grade 9 math students in the Upper Grand District School Board continue to surpass the provincial average in test results released by the province’s Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO). Results in both the academic and applied program have topped the province’s scores over the past five years.
Elementary teachers’ Day of Protest ruled illegal strike
GUELPH, Ontario (January 11, 2013) — As a result of an Ontario Labour Relations Board (OLRB) ruling early this morning, which determined that the province-wide one day political protest planned for today by the Elementary School Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO) was an “illegal strike”, the job action was cancelled. This prompted the Upper Grand District School Board to reverse its decision to close all its elementary schools.

Edward Johnson Boundary Review nearing decision
GUELPH, Ontario (January 19, 2012) — Ratification of the decision on a new boundary affecting French Immersion (FI) students who attend Guelph’s Edward Johnson Public School is slated for Tuesday January 24 at the regular monthly meeting of the Upper Grand District School Board.

Elementary students compete in skills competition
GUELPH, Ontario (June 14, 2013) — The sounds of eager and excited students filled the
Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex in Fergus on Wednesday as 585
students from 31 schools participated in the 6th Annual UGDSB Elementary

EcoSchool Student Leadership Conference
Guelph, Ontario (April 27, 2011) – On Thursday, April 21st, 70 student leaders from South Guelph schools gathered for an EcoSchool Student Leadership Conference at Rickson Ridge PS. Students came from Aberfoyle PS, Centennial CVI, Jean Little PS, Kortright Hills PS, Rickson Ridge PS, and Westminster Woods PS to share their ideas about how to promote environmental responsibility through the EcoSchool program.
Construction projects get the green light
GUELPH, Ontario (October 26, 2011) — Trustees on the Upper Grand District School Board voted to proceed with a number of construction projects at their meeting on October 25. The projects are part of the Full Day Kindergarten (FDK) Capital Plan, a district-wide strategy to provide classroom space for full day kindergarten students by 2014, and to relieve enrolment pressures in high-growth areas.
