Ontario Government announces Early Learning schools for 2011-2012
GUELPH, Ontario (June 15, 2010) — Five more Upper Grand elementary schools have received the go-ahead from the provincial government to offer the full day Early Learning (EL) program for four and five-year-olds beginning in September 2011, joining the 13 schools that will introduce the program for JK and K students this September.

New technology in the classroom helps expose effects of UV radiation
GUELPH, Ontario (May 26, 2010) — The cosmetology and parenting classes at College Heights in Guelph and Orangeville District Secondary School are seeing the effects of ultra violet (UV) radiation on their own skin using a new software program.

More Upper Grand students eligible to ride the bus to school
GUELPH (June 2, 2010) — More students in grades 7-12 will be eligible to ride the bus to school in September as a result of a decision by trustees of the Upper Grand District School Board to revise its transportation policy and improve walking distances for these students.

Ministry approves building of new elementary school in Rockwood
GUELPH, Ontario (January 16, 2013) — The Ministry of Education has approved the building of a new elementary school in Rockwood to ease the current overcrowding at Rockwood Centennial PS and the pressure of the implementation of Full Day Kindergarten (FDK) in September 2014. Guelph MPP Liz Sandals made the formal announcement at the Business Operations Committee meeting of the Upper Grand District School Board on Tuesday, January 15, 2013.
