Attendance areas proposed for new school and French Immersion in Rockwood

GUELPH, Ontario (November 11, 2013) — The second report of the New Rockwood Elementary
School Boundary Review has been posted to the Upper Grand District
School Board website at www.ugdsb.ca/rbr. The document will be
presented to the Business Operations Committee on November 12, and at a
Public Information Session on November 21.

Board approves schedule for school boundary reviews

GUELPH, Ontario (October 12, 2011) — The Upper Grand District School Board has approved a schedule of school boundary reviews as the next step in the implementation of its full day kindergarten (FDK) plan by September 2014.

Boundary Review has been posted to the Upper Grand District School Board
website, in advance of the presentation to trustees on Tuesday, April 9
and at a public information session on Thursday, April 11.

All Upper Grand elementary schools closed on Friday, January 11, 2013

GUELPH, Ontario (January 9, 2013) — Earlier today it was reported that the Elementary
Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO) will stage a one day political
protest against the provincial government on Friday, January 11, 2013.
As a result all Upper Grand elementary schools will be closed to
students to ensure the safety of children.

84% of Grade 10 Students Pass Provincial Literacy Test on First Attempt

GUELPH, Ontario (June 15, 2011) –  Eighty-four percent of the grade 10
students who were eligible to write the EQAO’s Ontario Secondary School
Literacy Test (OSSLT) for the first time were successful this year,
maintaining a high rate of success. Results for the Upper Grand District
School Board were slightly above the provincial average for the fifth
consecutive year, and followed provincial trends.

28 schools earn EcoSchool certification

GUELPH, Ontario (June 12, 2012) —  28 schools earn EcoSchool certification. Twenty four elementary schools and four secondary schools in the Upper Grand District School Board have been certified as Ontario EcoSchools.

2014 results from the Regional Technological Skills Competition for secondary students

GUELPH, Ontario (April 17, 2014) — Gold medal winners from recent Regional Skills
Competitions held in the Upper Grand and Wellington Catholic school
boards will soon be proceeding to the Ontario Technological Skills
Competitions in Waterloo May 5-7, 2014.
