Princess Elizabeth Public School helps feed northern families
The students at Princess Elizabeth PS in Orangeville have raised over $1,000 to help supply food banks in Nunavut! As part of their Free the Children/Me to We student group initiative, the students brought in donations of $1020.80 over a period of 9 days during the month of March.

Core French students embrace timeline project
Laurel Farell’s grade 8 Core French class at Elora Public School was given the task to create a personal timeline. The students were to include 15-20 defining life moments written in complete sentence format including correct use of passé composé with être and avoir.

Edward Johnson PS class teams up with Japanese students
Grade 6 students in Mme Caudarella’s class at École Edward Johnson participated in a Global Project called Art Miles Japan this year. It is coordinated through the International Education and Resource Network and is a fabulous way for students to have a global learning experience.

They’ve already reached their goal of raising $25,000 for Plan Canada’s “Spread the Net” campaign against lives lost to malaria, but students at John F. Ross CVI aren’t stopping there.
Ken Danby PS students get fun lesson in the three R's
At Ken Danby Public School, Mrs. Zevenbergen’s Grade 4/5 class organized a Swag and Shop event on January 30, 2015. Students brought in items from home that they no longer used. The children received tickets for their submitted items, which they then used to shop for “new” items.

Arbor Vitae raises more than $4,000 for charity
The Beyond Borders interdisciplinary business program run out of Centennial CVI presented Arbor Vitae – Tree of Life – an environmental charity event on Friday January 16, 2015. Over $4,000 was raised for the David Suzuki Foundation and the Guelph Youth Music Centre where the Beyond Borders program is located.

Cocoa and Cram hosted by Link Crew at Centennial CVI
With Grade Nines going into their first
high school exams, senior members of Centennial’s Link Crew hosted an
after-school study session in the cafeteria from 3:30 to 5 pm on January
14. Teachers and Link Crew members mingled with the newbies showing
them how and what to study. Along with review sheets provided by
teachers for each course, the fun atmosphere developed a serious
“minds-on” final exam thinking. Oh – and lots of cookies were eaten and much hot chocolate was consumed!
