What We Heard
Students value caring relationships, Wellness Hubs, safe spaces, prevention, and opportunities to build coping skills and resilience.
Strengthened relationships and belonging, lead to enhanced mental health and resilience. This priority focuses on creating the conditions where every student feels connected, valued, and supported. Strong relationships and mentally healthy schools are the foundation of well-being for all.
Goals
Continue to expand Tier 1 mental health promotion and prevention initiatives that foster belonging, resilience, coping skills, positive relationships, and overall well-being for all students.
Strengthen Tier 2 early identification and intervention practices by supporting school teams in recognizing emerging mental health concerns and implementing evidence-informed supports and strategies.
Increase mental health literacy for students, staff, and families, including supporting the ongoing implementation of Ministry mental health literacy learning expectations and enhancing understanding of mental health, well-being, help-seeking, and available supports.
Continue to provide evidence-informed mental health promotion and substance use prevention learning opportunities for students through school-based programming and community partnerships.
