Research and Program Evaluation

The Upper Grand District School Board (UGDSB) is committed to fostering equity, student achievement, and well-being through evidence-informed practice and meaningful research partnerships. We welcome research applications that align with the Ontario Ministry of Education’s priorities and our Multi-Year Plan (MYP), which emphasizes Ensuring Equity of Access and Outcomes, Inspiring a Lifelong Love of Learning, Foundational Education and Student Achievement, Leading Through Sustainability, and Championing Health and Well-Being.

The UGDSB has a duty under the Education Act to promote student achievement, promote a positive school climate and the prevention of bullying, and deliver effective and appropriate education programs. Whereas program evaluation focuses on assessing the effectiveness and/or impact of specific programs, interventions and assessments, educational research explores broader theoretical and empirical questions to contribute to the evidence base and inform the development of innovative educational theories, policies, and practices.

The research interests outlined on this page highlight areas where UGDSB seeks to deepen understanding and strengthen practice, particularly in ways that support historically marginalized students, advance culturally responsive pedagogy, and enhance student engagement, learning, and well-being.

On this page you will find the reports on program evaluation or research that has been conducted within the UGDSB.
