Important links and information for the 2025-26 school year

As students get ready to return to UGDSB classrooms on Wednesday, September 3, we’ve put together a guide with important links and information to help families navigate the 2025-26 school year.

School Directory

You can easily find your student’s school information via our online directory at https://www.ugdsb.ca/page/school-directory.

Included for each school are a contact email and phone number, name of the school principal, classroom hours, and whether the school offers a Before and/or After School Program

Before and/or After School Program

A Before and/or After School Program (BASP) is offered at many UGDSB schools. Before and/or After School Programs are provided in these schools by Third Party Child Care Operators and their staff for students between the ages of 3.8 years to 12 years of age (Grades JK-6).

A full list of schools that offer a BASP can be found at https://www.ugdsb.ca/o/ugdsb/page/before-andor-after-school-program

School Year Calendars

Elementary and Secondary School Year Calendars can be found at https://www.ugdsb.ca/page/school-year-calendars. These calendars outline the school days, PA Days and holidays for the school year.

Another option to find important dates is our Events Calendar, which can be found at https://www.ugdsb.ca/events. Along with PA Day and holiday information, the Events Calendar includes information on Board and other committee meetings.

The Upper Grand District School Board is also a partner in the Wellington Dufferin Guelph Active and Safe Routes to School (ASRTS) Committee. The vision of the Committee is that walking, cycling and other active modes will be attractive, realistic and safe modes of transportation for school students in Wellington, Dufferin and Guelph. For more information on ASRTS, visit https://www.ugdsb.ca/page/active-and-safe-routes-to-school

Inclement Weather and School Closure Procedures

On the rare occasions when schools and board sites are closed to staff and students (e.g. power outages, weather closures formerly known as “System Shutdown”), students are to shift to remote learning, where possible.

If schools and board offices are closed to students and staff, this information will be posted on the board website, the UGConnect mobile app, and a phone call will go out to all staff and families.

For more information on Inclement Weather and School Closure Procedures, visit https://www.ugdsb.ca/page/inclement-weather-procedures.

Student Immunization

To ensure the protection of children and the public, the Ontario Ministry of Health administers a universal school immunization program as part of the Immunization of School Pupils Act. Under the Act, Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health (WDGPH) is legally required to collect and maintain a complete immunization history on all children enrolled in a school.

Schools do not collect or submit immunization records. Parents will be reminded to submit up to date immunization information to Public Health when registering their child for school. Each time your child receives a vaccine, it is your responsibility to report it to Public Health.

To learn more about Student Immunization, visit https://www.ugdsb.ca/page/student-immunization.

Report Cards

Parents and guardians will need to create an account with the UGDSB before they can download their child’s report card. To create a Parent Portal account, click on the link for your child’s school at https://www.ugdsb.ca/page/connected-for-parents

Parents/guardians can create their account provided they have an email on record with the school. Once your account is activated, you will see each of your children listed.

Stay Informed

The UGConnect app allows users to follow the news feed and events calendars of the UGDSB and whatever schools users select to follow. Users can also sign up to receive push notifications from the UGDSB and selected schools. To learn more and download the app for Android or iPhone, visit https://www.ugdsb.ca/article/10883.

Along with the app and the main UGDSB website, you can also get important information by following the UGDSB on social media, including Facebook and Instagram.

Have a great 2025-26 school year!
