Schools to stress the importance of bullying awareness and prevention 

From November 21 to the 25, the Upper Grand District School Board will be participating in Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week (BAPW). During BAPW students, staff and guardians are encouraged to learn more about bullying and its effects on student learning and well-being. Each school will be doing its part to stress the importance of bullying awareness and prevention to its staff and students.

LABOUR UPDATE: All UGDSB to remain open this week, no shift to remote learning

Due to the updates in provincial negotiations between CUPE and the province, CUPE employees will be back at schools effective Tuesday November 8th.As such, there will be NO shift to remote learning in the UGDSB this week. All schools will remain open to students for in-person learning.

UGDSB staff and students to continue their learning during Treaties Recognition Week 

This year, Treaties Recognition Week is November 6-12, 2022. This annual event honours the importance of treaties and helps students learn more about treaty rights and relationships. By learning more about our collective treaty rights and obligations, we can create greater understanding and nurture these relationships. During this week and throughout the year, UGDSB staff and students will continue their Indigenous Education learning.

Reminder: All UGDSB schools open Monday, plus schedule for remote learning and updated FAQs

A reminder that all UGDSB schools will be open on Monday November 7, 2022. All secondary schools will shift to remote learning on Tuesday November 8 and all elementary schools will shift to remote learning on Wednesday November 9. *PLEASE NOTE: Students in our Life Skills class placements and Education and Community Partnership Programs (ECPP) will continue with in-person learning.

Important Update: All UGDSB schools open on Monday November 7, plus plans for remote learning

The UGDSB will begin shifting schools to remote learning early next week. All schools will be open to in-person learning on Monday November 7, however keeping schools open, healthy and safe is not sustainable without our valued CUPE employees.
