The Board received Ministry funding in November 2021 to facilitate the construction of a new 328-pupil place JK-8 elementary school in Centre Wellington. The Board had previously reserved an elementary school site in Phase 1 of the Storybrook subdivision in northwest Fergus. The new school in northwest Fergus is forecasted to open for the 2025/26 school year and will aid in accommodating forecasted growth while alleviating enrolment pressures from the surrounding schools.

The Boundary Review Process for the New Centre Wellington School has been completed and the recommendations will be implemented for the 2025-26 school year.
