As we begin the 2025-26 school year, the staff at the Upper Grand District School Board’s Terry James Resource Centre (TJRC) wanted to give you an update (or an introduction, if you’re a new member of our staff) on all things happening at the TJRC.
Who we are
The TJRC is a library and printing centre open to all educators and employees at the UGDSB. We provide staff with access to resources - print, hands-on, and digital - as well as printing services, project support, and collaborative workspaces.
Our dedicated and experienced team is available on site to help with questions and offer guidance around everything from finding books and accessing streaming videos, to using the laminators and requesting supplies. And if you aren’t able to visit in person, not to worry - we’re only an email away.
New website
The TJRC website has been fully redesigned and is easier to navigate than ever before. You can still find information about the resource centre, the services offered, and all resources available.
You can also check out the Happening This Month section of the homepage for key dates and upcoming events and activities at the TJRC.
Information such as hours of operation and location can also be found on the Plan Your Visit section of the new website.
Print and project requests
If you have a printing or project request for the TJRC, you can submit them to the Media Centre team using our Google Form.
Scent-sensitive zone
The TJRC and the rest of the UGDSB board office are scent-sensitive environments, due to life-threatening medical conditions among staff. Please refrain from wearing fragranced products (i.e., perfume, aftershave, essential oils, laundry scent-boosters, etc.) while using the TJRC.
Hours of operation
The hours of operation for the TJRC are:
Monday to Thursday - 8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Friday - 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Closed on weekends & holidays
You can also book a tour of the TJRC to learn more from staff about what we provide.
Contact
Feel free to contact the TJRC via email at terryjames.library@ugdsb.on.ca or via phone at 519-822-4420 x554. You can also follow us on Instagram and on the UGConnect app.
Whatever your role is at the UGDSB, the TJRC is here to help you do what you do best!
