On Thursday November 13, 2025, Ontario’s Minister of Education, Paul Calandra, visited the Upper Grand District School Board’s Grant Evans Education Centre in Orangeville.
He was greeted by Sylvia Jones, Deputy Premier, Minister of Health, and MPP for Dufferin—Caledon, Peter Sovran, UGDSB’s Director of Education, and Pat Hamilton, Superintendent of Student Achievement at UGDSB.
During the visit, Minister Calandra participated in an informal discussion with Directors of Education from South West Regional Education Council (SWREC).
The Minister also toured the UGDSB’s Innovation Lab, learning about the opportunities the lab provides the board and neighbouring boards in producing and delivering high quality professional learning, and met with UGDSB co-op students working in the lab.
