Norwell District Secondary School was buzzing with energy on April 2, 2026, as students, educators, employers, clubs, and community organizations came together for the Minto–Mapleton Works event.
Held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the job, career, and volunteer fair highlighted the strength of local partnerships and showcased the many opportunities available to students and the broader community right here in their region.
The event welcomed 600 students in Grades 9–12, along with 25 members of the public, who explored future pathways, asked questions, and made meaningful connections. A total of 35 exhibitors participated, supported by 61 representatives from businesses, community clubs, and organizations. Together, they shared insights into employment options, career pathways, volunteer involvement, and the skills needed to succeed beyond high school.
Minto–Mapleton Works was made possible through strong collaboration with event partners, the Township of Mapleton, the Town of Minto, and the Career Education Council, and with the generous support of sponsors including the County of Wellington, the Township of Mapleton, and the Town of Minto. Special thanks are extended to Betty Douglas, School Contact at Norwell District Secondary School, for her support and coordination in hosting the event.
The organizers would also like to sincerely thank the Norwell co-op students for their invaluable assistance with event setup and takedown. Their professionalism and willingness to help played a key role in the smooth and successful delivery of the day.
