Upper Grand District School Board (UGDSB) is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of 19 students from Centennial CVI, Guelph CVI and John F. Ross CVI who recently travelled to Atlanta, Georgia to compete at the DECA International Career Development Conference (ICDC).

ICDC is one of the largest international business competitions for high school students, bringing together participants from across North America and beyond. The event provides students with the opportunity to compete in a variety of business-focused events, while also networking with peers and developing essential leadership and career-ready skills.

UGDSB students demonstrated exceptional talent, professionalism, and dedication throughout the competition. Several students earned top honours, including Andres GS, Tej B, Rose D, Rafan Z, Lavanya S, Sam HR, Carter F and Owen Y, who were recognized with medals in their respective events.

In an especially impressive accomplishment, Andreas, Tej, Rose, Carter and Sam advanced to the final round and placed in the top 10 internationally in their categories.

“ICDC was an enormous opportunity to meet new people, try new things, and be the best you can be",” said Sam HR. Leah H added, "Being at ICDC feels like an accomplishment on its own. It showed me that hard work actually pays off, but more than that, DECA has pushed me to be creative, share my ideas with confidence and overall grow into a more driven student.”

The UGDSB congratulates all participating students for their hard work, commitment, and success, and looks forward to their continued achievements in the future.
