Earlier this month, Shad Canada announced that four Upper Grand District School Board students have been accepted into the Shad summer program.
Shad is a nationally recognized program that has supported Canadian youth since 1981.
After going through the application process, students selected for the Shad summer program spend one month at a Canadian post-secondary institution engaging in programming focused on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math), entrepreneurship, and career exploration.
UGDSB students invited to participate in this summer program include:
Massimo CM., grade 11, Guelph CVI
Ibrahim MA., grade 10, John F. Ross CVI
Grace M., grade 10, Westside SS
Sheetal D., grade 11, Westside SS
According to the Shad website, “What begins as one immersive summer month becomes a lifelong network and a call to impact, igniting youth potential and creating lasting impact for Canada and the world.”
Acceptance to Shad is an incredible opportunity for students, and we wish them all the best!
