The Guelph Collegiate Vocational Institute Chamber Choir is heading to Oslo, Norway, from June 3 – 8, 2026, to sing at the Music of Ola Gjeilo Festival. The week will conclude with a culminating concert at the Oslo Concert Hall on June 7, 2026.

Attending the event is Juilliard alumnus Ola Gjeilo, a renowned composer in contemporary choral music, and one of the most performed choral composers worldwide. He will be playing piano for the festival and his wife, Irene Messoloras, will be conducting.

According to GCVI teacher Lane Osborne, “We were very grateful for the invitation to participate in this landmark event thanks to a successful audition. There are 40 students in the choir who are coming on this adventure with us.”

GCVI students will be performing with choirs from Norway, the United States of America, Ireland, and Italy.

Wishing the GCVI Chamber Choir safe travels!
