Earlier this June, the Orangeville District Secondary School AAA Boys’ Field Lacrosse team competed in Oshawa, Ontario at OFSAA.
Held at the Civic Recreation Centre in Oshawa, the AAA Boys’ Field Lacrosse tournament took place between June 3-4, 2026.
This was an exciting season for ODSS, as this was the first time since the 1980s that the school had a field lacrosse program. Teacher Katrina Lawson started the team this year to create a sense of purpose for students and to generate school pride among this group of athletes. Lawson was joined by Teague Landers and Ryan Martin who stepped up to coach, and Sofia Mammoliti who acted as the team trainer.
Throughout the season, the team of 26 students recorded 14 wins and 1 loss, scored 194 goals total, and claimed a place at OFSAA. The ODSS Scarlet Bears played the St. Peter CSS Saints during the bronze medal game, where they came out on top and brought bronze home with them.
Congratulations, ODSS on an incredible season!
